Sports teams

The sports teams have been busy during the first few weeks of the term competing in both rugby and football.

Rugby

Rugby teamThe U9 boys were soundly beaten by strong Perse Prep teams in what was their first football match of the year. They look forward to the forthcoming rugby matches which await.

Our U10 rugby teams took to the field against Felsted and competed well with the visitors. Our A team lost the game having started slowly but our B team ran out comfortable winners. Well played boys.

Football

The U11 girls took part in two closely contested football matches with RA Butler with the hosts winning both matches. The slope of the pitch was key in both matches and with RA Butler making the most of the slope in the first half, the girls had a tough task to reduce the deficit in the second half. That said, a never say die attitude and good spells of possession from our girls in the second half ensured the game was not over until the final whistle was blown.

Our U11 boys travelled to Moreton Hall for a rugby quadrangular. A good display of rugby saw the team beat Brookes Cambridge and draw with Orwell Park and the hosts to remain unbeaten during the afternoon. An encouraging first outing of the season with lots of tough matches to play ahead.

Sports Crew

Our newly elected Sports crew members travelled to Henham school for some Leadership training last week. With the aim of the afternoon to give these young leaders some ideas to bring back to school and understand how to run intra school competitions, the children returned feeling inspired and keen to set up some numerous sporting events during breaktimes and lunchtimes throughout the year.

"It was a great opportunity for us and we are looking forward to setting things up soon." said our Sports Crew.
