Our Learning Wheel

Knowledge versus skills? The debate goes on and on – but we believe that it isn't a choice between one or the other.

Our Learning Wheel places the learner at its core, is holistic and integrates the key areas of knowledge and understanding with thinking skills and learning characteristics.

We prepare young people to blaze a trail in whatever field they choose. They leave us equipped with a breadth of skills, ready to become responsible global citizens.

    Learning Segment

We group our subjects together into six curriculum areas. We teach subjects in an integrated way, because the future belongs to those who can think way beyond narrow subject boundaries.

    Learning to think

Education is not just about imparting knowledge. It’s about teaching young people how to think for themselves: critically, creatively and collaboratively.

    Developing Character

Fostering a secure bedrock of self-esteem and a sure moral compass is essential preparation for a future in a complex world.

    Our Learners

Our schools are small enough to ensure that each learner is known. By placing our learners at the centre of our approach, we create an education that allows individuality to flourish.

  • Learning without limits

Our vision for education isn’t confined by rigid boundaries. A traditional subject-by-subject curriculum does little to prepare for our interconnected world.

We group subjects that have a natural synergy. We encourage young people to explore links between different disciplines and to follow longer projects that pique their interest.

  • Thinking skills

We develop good learning habits and positive attitudes, to help young people prepare for the opportunities and challenges life throws up.

By encouraging thinking skills, our pupils develop a range of different approaches to tackling an idea or issue.

  • Creativity and innovation

Our brilliant teachers bring inspiration and creativity to learning, supported by innovative digital tools and dynamic learning spaces.

It’s no surprise that there’s an air of expectancy at the beginning of every lesson.
