From sports facilities to evening lectures, our students enjoy the best that this beautiful city of learning has to offer.

Cambridge is our campus. We immerse our sixth form students in the best of its resources and facilities to deliver inspiration and guidance through day-to-day learning, including:

  • University and city facilities for sport, music, art and drama, as well as the wider curriculum
  • Evening lectures, events and competitions hosted by Cambridge University give students an insight into university life
  • Excellent connections with academics, innovators, and other Cambridge organisations working directly with the students

Our students continually tell us how much they enjoy studying in such a prestigious and inspiring environment. The opportunities and invitations extended to us as a result of our links with Cambridge University and the wider Cambridge community are priceless.

Sports and Wellbeing

Whilst we have excellent sports facilities of our own - including a fantastic sports hall and the only rooftop sports pitch in Cambridge - we also make use of our enviable location in central Cambridge.

Our students enjoy the cricket grounds at Gonville & Caius College, for example, and the fully equipped gym at Kelsey Kerridge sports centre. And just around the corner from our teaching buildings lies the University’s Botanic Garden, where you can find a quiet moment in nature.

We have partnerships with Cambridge United Football Club, Mavericks Netball Super League team and Anglia Ruskin University to deliver expert coaching and training for our students.

The University of Cambridge

Our story is a part of Cambridge’s history. Founded in 1881 by Stephen Perse, a fellow of Gonville & Caius College, we benefit from strong links with the University to this day.

As well as using the sports grounds at Gonville & Caius College, our students have the opportunity to experience:

  • subject-specific collaborations with University departments
  • performing at the University’s West Road Concert Hall
  • dining in formal hall at a Cambridge College
  • attending evening lectures with University researchers and professors
  • trips to University museums and colleges

Every year, we also welcome Cambridge academics into the Stephen Perse Sixth Form Colleges as part of our programme of ‘Inspire me’ talks, designed to challenge our sixth form students to think differently. Speakers over the last few years have included Lord Rowan Williams, then Master of Magdalene College, Professor Hamid Sabourian, Chair of the Faculty of Economics, and Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, Professor of Developmental Psychopathology.

Business and networking

Cambridge is a renowned hub for research, development and innovation, leading to the nickname ‘Silicon Fen’. As such, we work hard to connect our students with Cambridge innovators.

Trips, talks, and collaborations with key Cambridge businesses help them develop a greater awareness of what lies beyond their studies - and they learn valuable networking skills along the way. This can mean anything from an insight afternoon at AstraZeneca to a visit from the sustainability team at ARM!

“The trip to AstraZeneca was thoroughly enjoyable. After a virtual reality experience we were put through our paces in a team lab challenge… it was a fantastic immersive experience that we would recommend to all budding scientists.”

We are proud to immerse our students in the best that Cambridge has to offer, providing valuable experiences, enjoyment, and connections for the future.
